Guess What Time It Is

This is my "busiest" weekend of the year. Each day is a different something, and all I have to do is live through most of it.

Tonight is our town's "Beggar's Night." This is the night kids go trick-or-treating. No, they didn't cancel. Yes, that's a weird thing to call trick-or-treating. I grew up two hours from here and we didn't call it that. Central Iowans are so weird.

Tomorrow is Halloween, the big chupacabra. The veil between the realms of the living and the dead are weak, and spirits may pass through. If you believe that sort of thing. What do you mean there's someone behind me?

If Halloween is the last day in October, you know what that means. Sunday, Sunday, Sunday is the first day of NaNoWriMo, National Novel Writing Month (or November for you normal folks). Are you ready to write 50,000 words in 30 days? Neither am I, but I'm going to try again this year. I need to kick this rewrite in the ass so I can move on to something new. This is the only hard work I'll be doing this weekend. Who's with me?

We also turn our clocks back Sunday morning, to make sure we get that extra hour of writing ... er ... sleep.

We're all going to need that extra hour of sleep so we can stay up all night and wait for election results on Tu-Wednesday.

May you survive the weekend, friends! Cheers!
