Live and Let Live

Life is beautiful.

I got laid. I’m moving up in the world. I’m going to be published. I have a solution to a problem that’s been bugging me since January. I might actually have time to participate in my critique group in July. It’s exciting.

PrideFest was amazing, it’s over, and we gave back to the community. I’m so glad for my friends who helped me through it. (Yes, even those of you who weren’t there–thoughts of you bolstered me all weekend!)

People are wonderful. Seriously. I love people right now. All of the outpouring of support for our local community in the wake of the horrible events in Orlando has lightened my heart. Some shared stories. Some thanked us. Some couldn’t speak over the tears in their throats.

For right now, life is good. I have fabulous friends, I have an adorable Lemur, and I’m so happy to resolve the debt I owe Freddie.

I know there is ugly under the surface. I know that people show support to our faces and mock us behind our backs. That’s fine. I know I won’t win any popularity contests.

There will be dark days and anger again next week, I’m sure. There will be arguments and hurt feelings and strife in the ranks, but we will be stronger for it.

We will be strong when we stand together.

In the meantime, I’ll be writing.
