Rewriting

I finished a novel! Again. For the fourth time. I still see it as a win. It’s much better this time around. It still has some rough spots where I need to add description and give some spacial direction, but it’s come a long way.

My next project is reworking a short I started two years ago and never finished. It needs a complete overhaul, so it’s nowhere near finished. It’s easier than starting from scratch with a tight deadline.

I just finished reading Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear by Elizabeth Gilbert. My favorite take-away was the idea that creativity hovers around us all the time like spirits, waiting for us to pay attention. I’ll do my best to pay attention – I need a fresh idea for my next submission call.

Which would you rather write: Brand new plot bunny or story you started but didn’t finish?
