Starting Over

After tons of feedback and reference book advice, I'm scrapping the fourth rewrite of Breaking All the Rules and starting over from scratch. Well. Except for one scene.
Drexel and Robbie comes down to one scene I've loved since the beginning, and the one scene I will save. Robbie comes into Drexel's office begging Drexel to please, please, please get him an audition for a supernatural buddy movie. He invents a sequel to Les Miserables, and new lyrics for "I Dreamed a Dream." This is Robbie in a nutshell, and this is why Drexel would do anything to get him the role he wants. This is also why I can't let this story die - Robbie has been my book boyfriend for seven years. He's why I keep rewriting, hoping to do him justice. I hope using this scene as a springboard and writing alternate scenes from their points of view will finally give their relationship the depth it needs.
In the meantime, I've written two novellas and a short story this year. I've also published two novellas and a short story this year. Who knows what the rest of 2020 will bring. I'm going to use the long weekend to rethink my writing life.
What are your weekend plans?
