The Butthole Surfers Say…

Thanks to the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ song “Deep Kick,” I have quoted or referenced the Butthole Surfers in Spread Your Wings and in Breaking All the Rules. I can’t help it. “It’s better to regret something you did than something you didn’t do” (“Deep Kick” version) kinda defines my life.
Some things I regret doing:
Going on a date with a guy I met at an amusement park
Staying with my abusive ex long after I knew he would never change
Working for my college friend
Believing my sister changed after her divorce
Oversharing
Things I’ve done I will never regret:
Befriending Ro
Marrying Lemur
Doggos
Blocking people on Facebook
Writing gay romance
Because I sent my bestie looking for her at YCon five years ago (HE became her friend when I was still just a fan), my dear friend Amy Lane posted my book in her December Kermit Flail! THANK YOU, to both Amy and Ro for making a dream come true for me. I will never regret my friendships or my past, even though some dark shit led me to Ro and Lemur, and writing began as therapy. It may be better to regret something you did, but sometimes it’s just better to be grateful for the memories and a trail well blazed.
