The Downhill Slide

It's November fifth, a Tuesday, the day I fall solidly below the numbers needed for the fifth day of NaNoWriMo. I probably won't hit word count tonight, second night in a row, and then it's a downhill slide to the weekend, where I will try valiantly to retake the word lead over the quick passage of time, and probably fail miserably.
At least I'm almost done with the vampire short. I like it much better than my original outline. My original main character was going to be a centuries-old Native American vampire, who, while one of the coolest vampires I've ever imagined, is also ace, so not the right lead for this story if I want a relationship in under 15k. Can one write an asexual character falling in love in under 15k words? I'm sure someone can, but that someone is not me.
My goal is to finish the vampire short before the weekend so I can concentrate on Stan and Jason the rest of the month. Wish me luck!
