This Day in History: May 15
This is supposed to be the one-year book anniversary for Pika Perfect. Instead, I'm working on the re-release on June 15.
We revealed the cover on Joyfully Jay on Monday. In case you missed it, Cate Ashwood did a fantastic job capturing Paul, Perdita (his hair), and an adorable pika!
Today is also my 22nd wedding anniversary with Lemur. For the math wizzes (and my longtime followers, and those of you who were there), yes, we partied like it was 1999 (because it was).
My brother-in-law gave us a bottle of Moet as a wedding present. He said we should save it until our first anniversary. Dense Queen fan that I am, I didn't get the significance. ("She keeps Moet et Chandon in a pretty cabinet.") Alas, I didn't have a pretty cabinet at the time, but I do now. We have a bottle for tonight. Not sure we'll open it because we also had our second COVID-19 vaccine shots yesterday. Alcohol and I are not friends on a good day, so I'm not sure I want to risk it.
What I have learned after 22 years of marriage:
Love conquers all when you know how to have a conversation.
Don't go to bed mad, or you won't get any sleep.
Friends come and go, family disappoints, but true love is a friendship that lasts forever.
I am a sappy, fluff-loving romantic at heart. I was not born this way. I blame Lemur.
Those who kill fantasy creatures together stay together (in video games - we are not out indiscriminately murdering the fae folk, I promise!).
