Stone of Power

Farbonnur Elves Book 1

Their love could save the realm, except they hate each other.

When Eldrich, the king's physician, stumbles onto his predecessor's doorstep in a pool of his own blood, he's grateful for the patch job. He doesn't appreciate being robbed. He needs the stolen artifact to prevent regicide, and his professional rival-turned-criminal stands in his way.

Everyone labels Julian a former king's physician. That's ridiculous. Physicians know magic, while Julian knows magic doesn't exist. Eldrich is a gorgeous distraction, though. When Julian detains him under suspicion of poisoning the king, it's only natural they monitor the king's recovery and acquaint themselves with one cot to spare.

Only elves can defeat the blood mage stealing their power. Julian's elven collaborators have given up hope on finding their fated mates after a century of searching. It's up to Julian and Eldrich to remind them of the power of love with their unlikely tryst.

Stone of Power is epic fantasy with a male/male enemies to lovers romance and contains a trickster who has lost his magic, an uptight physician who does everything by the book, a fickle goddess, a vague prophecy, and two elves waiting for their yet-to-be-met fated mates. SoP is a heady mix of mystery-solving elves and romantic humans who hate each other (until they don't) and takes place 100 years before Circles of Light, the start of the elves' romances. The six books in the Farbonnur Elves series are best read in order with a guaranteed happily ever after at the end of the series.

The humans' story was previously published as a 35,000 word novella, The King's Physician.
